Twitter Users Rally Around Bob Saget's Wife After She Asks Elon Musk To Restore His Blue Checkmark

It’s been a year since Bob Saget died at the age of 65 on January 9th. On the anniversary of his death, Saget’s wife Kelly Rizzo urged Twitter owner Elon Musk to restore the comedian’s blue checkmark out of respect for his legacy.

In recent months, Twitter users have been able to obtain the blue checkmark by paying a monthly fee. Unfortunately, many parody accounts have been created and are causing a lot of confusion for users with verified blue checks.

According to the Wayback Machine, as of July 31 last year, Saget still had the blue checkmark. An inactive Twitter account can lose its verification status if it is not used for six months. Facebook and Instagram both offer ways to memorialize the accounts of deceased users.
