Kanye West has been banned from Twitter after posting a swastika designed to look like the Star of David and sharing personal text messages with the rapper’s Twitter boss Elon Musk.
It’s not immediately clear whether Kanye West was actually banned for the swastika or for publicly sharing his texts from Elon Musk, who bought Twitter in October for $44 billion.
Kanye West’s ban, known as a “permanent suspension” on the social media platform, occurred shortly after midnight on Friday, after West made a widely unapproved appearance on The Alex Jones Show earlier in the day on Thursday. Kanye West, who brought along neo-Nazi commentator Nick Fuentes, praised the Nazis and stated very clearly that he adored Adolf Hitler.
At one point during the bizarre three-hour show, Kanye West took issue with Alex Jones calling Nazis evil. I love the Jewish people, but I love Nazis too, Kanye West laughed to Jones, who said she disagreed with him.
The Kanye West also made ridiculous claims about Hitler inventing the microphone and the highway, both of which are not true. And while Kanye West, who legally changed his first name to Yeh, may have a serious mental health breakdown, that’s no excuse for blatant anti-Semitism on display, as Gizmodo explained back in October.
Bipolar disorder doesn’t make you anti-Semitic, and former Kanye West employees have recently come forward to say that the Kanye West has always been in love with Hitler.
Elon Musk previously said he is a “free speech absolutist,” tweeted Kanye West before being suspended, saying it was okay for West to tweet shirtless photos of Elon Musk, something Kanye West did as a previous tweet , But it was not right to tweet the swastika.
I tried my best. Yet he again violated our rule against inciting violence. Following West’s suspension, Elon Musk tweeted the account would be suspended.
But it wasn’t just the swastika that apparently bothered Elon Musk, as Kanye West also shared private texts between the two billionaires. Sorry, but you’ve gone too far. Before suspending his account, Elon Musk texted Kanye West, this ain’t love, according to a screenshot posted by the rapper.
